Hello,

I haven't contacted you guys in a very long time, but since I can't find
any information any where, you guys are my last hope. I'm trying to figure
out if my 11 month old Hob, Odaesis, is in season or not. He's my youngest
of 5 ferrets, and my only whole one. I've been keeping a close eye on him
since he turned 6 months old. A few weeks ago he attacked my eldest male,
Ceezer (who just turned 4yrs). I first didn't think much of it, because
they're not housed together and lately haven't been out together much. But
he attacked him and urinated all over him, and it was the raunchiest smell
I've ever smelt coming from a ferret. And no, he didn't spray, I know that
smell. So from that point on I've separated him from the rest. Now if I
let him out now with the rest he'll play with the two males he's lived with
his entire life (Butterscotch and Xanthius both almost 2yrs), but he
attacks my eldest two (Ona my only female, 5yrs; and Ceezer). He attacks
them violently. I used to write FML about my female, Ona, who would not
get along with any ferret other that Ceezer. She'd attack every ferret
I've owned violently (and I've owned 9 including these 5) and they'd scream
for their lives. I finally gave up on her and kept Ona and Ceezer
separate. But when I got Odaesis, and when he got larger (he has to be a
good 5-6 lbs) I thought I'd try her again. Well now she gets along fine
with the others, but ironically she screams for her life when Odaesis comes
around. The first time he got her, he left a large sore on her hip, which
heeled fine. But after that he didn't attack her like that until now. So
I guess what I'm asking is, are these actions because he may be in season,
or do I just have to keep him separate from them?

His testicles are quite large, but I've never seen the difference in
ferrets on whether they're in season or just mature. And I've been
looking, but I can't find anything on the internet or in any of my books.

Ok, I have one other question about Odaesis. When I got him at 10weeks I
believe, he had a greenish brown coloring on his molars. I assumed it was
because he was young and weaning, eating soft food. All my ferrets have
very nice teeth, so I assumed it would go away when he started hard food.
Well it hasn't. Can ferrets have they're teeth cleaned? Would that even
help? Yes, I'm gonna ask my vet, but I figured I'd ask you guys too.
