yesterday while letting the ferrets out for their daily romp, Matt noticed
that Hoggle's genital area was red and sore looking and passed him over
for me to take a look at. i thought it also looked a little gooey, so i
put a little hydrogen peroxide on it to clean it up. (yes, i know it
really hurt, but having had to treat genital infections on male animals in
the past i'd prefer that little pain to all the rest that could come.) i
think it was just scraped or something, but i'd like to hear anything about
similar looking problems on ferrets if anyone has any.

oh, and some background. Hoggle is a (probably) 2 year old brown/gray/white
(he doesn't fit colour classifications too well) male, who underwent
blackage surgery back in the spring. he was adopted when his former owners
dropped him off at the pet shop i worked at in a rollerblade box, at which
time he was probably about 4 months old.

thanks!
siani
