FOG (Ferrets On the Go) has room to take 4 (2 groups of 2) and possibly 8 (4
groups of 2) by the end of the week.  If any of the full shelters can
arrange to get them to us in Northwest Florida panhandle, let us know and we
will gladly help.  I know 4 doesn't do much long term but maybe after we
find good homes for those we can do another four.  I ask that they be ECE
free.  So far we haven't had an epedimic of it in this area and would love
to keep it that way.  Age is not a determing factor in taking them, perhaps
older ferrets have qualities that are more compatible with first time owners
anyway.
 
A question that I haven't seen addressed is: How long do they remain
carriers of ECE.  I've been told forever and 6 months.  That's a lot of
difference.(Did you see the space in a lot.) This can make a world of
difference in either opeining homes for ECE affected ferrets or forever
closing the door on their chance for a loving home with other ferrets.
 
BIG, please do me a favor.  I signed up on the FML under my son's name,
please replace Brian Canals with mine, Deena Canals.  Thanks, I'm ready to
come out of the closet, it's mighty hard to rescue ferrets in there and
there isn't much room for their litter box and their personal choice of

I month or so ago, the lady spearheading the Florida rabies drive contacted
me, I have lost your e-mail.  Please contact me, we are setting up a
committee to help join the fight and would rather strengthen the efforts by
working with you then going off in our own direction.
