The more I read on the topic of food the more it becomes apparent that I
sincerely hope I can get my new ferret to eat Bob's stuff. When I see
things like "By product meal" in the ingredient list I begin to think "What
are by products?". Quality control in the poultry and beef industry for
human consumption are poor enough. I cannot imagine what goes in to these
"meals".

It seems as if Ferrets have chronic health problems. Could these problems
be diet related. I believe Bob C wrote that the processing of kibble (any
kibble) could quite possibly strain the adrenal glands. Could other
problems result in the feeding of the "by-product meal". It would seem to
make a great deal of sense that the ferrets should get parts of the whole
animal, not by products, to have a balanced diet. After all what is in
"herring meal" or "Chicken by product meal"

Please remember I am not an expert, not even a beginner. I have just doing
my research before I get my ferret.
