I read the last post in the 27-28 Feb MFL with dismay.  If anonymous is
correct in his/her estimate of the situation, Pat Wright should have been
justified in greeting the "crazed thugs in uniforms" with a blazing AK-47.
There are cases as described, but no one but police weep crocodile, or
any other kind of tears, when a policeman is gunned down on the job.  We
supposedly live in a land of rule and order.  This is what makes it more
attractive than less civilized countries where I am free to shoot whomever
I please.  If we pick and choose what laws to obey, claiming that this one
is less important or dumber than that one, we will lose the thin veneer of
civilization we have.  If we tar all police with the same brush we may well
end up with no one to protect ourselves and our property from the predators
in our ranks.
 
IMHO it's time to drop Pat Wright.
