I have been going into my two local Pet Supermarkets, and they each have had
one little one that looked almost too young to eat hard kibble. I pointed
this out in the first one, and when I went into the other one yesterday, I
was happy to see that they had also moistened the kibble for the ferrets.

In each case, I have to pick up the littlest one, check their ribs and make
sure they are doing ok (not that I know a lot about young ferrets, but helps
my peace of mind). Yesterday, when I set the little one down, s/he attacked
the hanging toy, holding it, wrestling with it, bitting it a little... When
I walked back by after getting my fish (about 10-15 minutes) s/he was still
at it, and one of the other ferrets (the one that had been sleeping right by
the hanging toy) was awake and eating. I think the little one got so
carried away, s/he landed on this one while playing. :)

So there are good pet stores out there. We all need to remember that before
we condemn all pet stores because of a few serious problems.
