1. LAWSUIT
2. PRO-FERRET TESTIMONY FROM HEARINGS BACK IN JUNE
3. FLYER UPDATE
4. MORE LETTERS TO VALONE AND ROBLES ARE NEEDED!

1. LAWSUIT

New York City Ferret owners and the Humane Society filed a lawsuit against
Mayor Giuliani and the NYC Dept of Health on October 28th. We've *finally*
got the info from this up on the site: Affidavits, Summons, Complaint, Press
release, Memorandum of Law.... -lots of scanning! Stop by and check it out.

2. PRO-FERRET TESTIMONY FROM HEARINGS BACK IN JUNE

Back in June, the ASPCA and the Humane Society urged the Department of
Health *not* to include ferrets in the list of banned animals. Copies of
thier testimony from the DOH Hearings in June are now available on the
site.

3. FLYER UPDATE

An updated version of our flyer is available on the site. If you've been
distributing flyers, please make sure you have the most current version.
Most of the content is the same. The biggest difference is the addition of
a "snail mail" address to join a mailing list for NYC people who are not
online. -If you *are* online, please stay on the email list instead! It's
cheaper for us and the email updates will be sent more often.

If you still have copies of the first flyer and you want to use them up,
there's no need to waste them. There's enough space at the end to add the
extra address. Just make a few labels and stick 'em on! The rest of the
information is pretty similar. Once you use up your old copies, be sure to
download the new one :)

4. MORE LETTERS TO VALONE AND ROBLES ARE NEEDED!

We need more letters to Mr. Vallone and Mr. Robles. Word has it that Mr.
Vallone does not want to push the ferret issue because he doesn't want to
upset the mayor! Even if you've already written to Mr. Vallone, write
again and tell him you're specifically writing at this time to urge him to
set a hearing date for "Intro 627: The Ferret Regulation Bill" as soon as
possible. Call their offices too! We need to flood thier offices with
letters if we are going to get this bill passed.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Lori M
