Thank you everyone for your support and suggestions, the flyers worked,
the neighbor that found her hadn't seen a ferret before but knew from
the poster and my asking to let us know, she was in his yard, checking
out some watermelon in his compost heap!!!
 
I had never thought to put out anything but her food and water, silly me,
WATERMELON anyway, thanks to everyone for their kind words of support and
some really good suggestions.
