Could your ferret be burning herself on something?  That might explain the
perfect shape and sharp edge of the mark.  Just a thought.
 
For the person who's looking for smaller litterpans:
 
just go to the supermarket or "dollar store" and buy some cheap
tupperware-like food containers.  You can pretty much find them in any shape
or size (except the elusive triangle, I guess.  And probably no trapezoids,
either.)
