Are these Marshall Farms ferrets?

    The Oregon Ferret Association received 2 female ferrets this weekend
that have the familiar 2 blue dots in the ear.  They also have a metal clip
in the same ear with 2 letters on one side of the clip and 2 numbers on the
other side of the clip.
    One of these female ferrets is in full season and the other appears to
be pregnant.  They are approximately 2 years old.  Any ideas about the
origin?  Breeding stock (I thought they euthanized jills once they were
done with them?) or research animals?
