Yesterday many of you read of Rose German's request for help with her
shelter ferret Gizmo. It was discovered he has a mass on his spine -
removal would cost over $800.00 in vet bills. Rose came to us and asked
for help. This is very abnormal for Rose, she is usually the one doing
the giving.

Early this evening I received a post from Rose. The vet had performed
an ultrasound and found that Gizmo had lymphoma. It was pretty serious
and he was beginning to have difficulty urinating. The vet felt the
kindest thing to do at this stage was to help him to the Bridge. Rose
picked up her Gizmo and then her hubby so that they could be with him
for a bit and then say good-bye together as she held him and helped
him to the Bridge.

This has hit Rose pretty hard; so much to take in and have to decide on
in such a short time. When she got the news she was going to stop the
raffle but the out pouring of support from those wanting to rally
behind her and her efforts has been so great she is going to go on and
rename the sacks "In Memory of Gizmo" and the raffle for the bedding
set will go on as planned.

In the event you place an order or have questions, if you don't hear
right back from Rose, please be patient - I suspect she may need a few
days to grieve. I can't imagine she has completely recovered from all
that holiday sewing on top of the South Shore emergency sewing she did
and all the Secret Santa bedding she did for forgotten GT kids, then to
get hit with this......... Your friendship and expressions of sympathy
would be greatly appreciated I am sure.
