OK, we've learned to live with the accidents in corners and the protest
messages by the door. But now there's a new development. We recently added
two female kits to our household, and while they have been a little less
discriminating than the two older boys as to where they do their business,
they have always used the litterbox in the cage. Now, however, for the last
two days, someone has been pooping on the bedding we keep on the floor.
Since all four sleep together, it's hard to say who's responsible at this
point, but I suspect one of the girls and may try isolating them for a few
nights to see. But I wonder if anyone has other suggestions, both as to why
this behavior might have begun and what we can do to stop it. We've had the
girls about a month now, and everyone seems to get along well. They have
the run of my daughter's room when we aren't around, and get out around the
whole house for a couple hours most days. We have litter boxes scattered
around the house, which mostly they don't use, but they are learning and
sometimes even go back to 'their' room to use the boxes there. But this
bedding thing has me stumped. The oldest ferret is 3, and this has never
happened before. Any advice would be much appreciated.
