I'd like to respond to Sherri.
>What do you mean by rabbiting? You want your ferret to hunt rabbit?
>If you do mean hunt, don't you think that's mean? Think of that poor
>cute rabbit. If you don't mean to hunt, please disregard.

I think this is probably a cultural thing, but in Australia, especially
in the bush, rabbits are considered pests, even being likened to being
like a "plague". There have been numerous attempts over the years to rid
the country areas of rabbits, who dig up paddocks and destroy feed for
livestock. They are not native to Australia at all.

Anyway, I live in Australia and have heard of people hunting with ferrets
for rabbits. Both the ferret and the rabbit would not be considered
"pets" but "working animals" and "pests". I'm not advocating that the pet
ferret chase the pet rabbit, but I do feel that ferrets can have a useful
role as rabbit hunters.

Please feel free to disagree. It's just my opinion.

Regards,

Georgina, who lives in Australia, with Tabitha and Endora (her ferrets)
and her flatmate and her flatmate's rabbit (who is never allowed anywhere
near my two rascals)...
