Was just reading the Harper's Index column in a local paper where they have
insteresting (and zany) statistics such as the CIA bought fifty La-Z-Boy
recliners this past January.  This time they also included the following:
 
    "Average number of dog bites sustained by Americans each day: 12,877"
 
    "Average daily amount U.S. insurers pay to cover them: $2,739,726"
 
Bill, Susie, Squeekers, Peaches, John Bear, and Jack the Cat who thinks like
