I just recently got a ferret. He just turned 4 months old and ever
since I got him I noticed something very very odd. One day I noticed
a poop in his litter box that looked just like an egg yolk. I freaked
out and when I was scooping it out I noticed a little red dot in it.
Since then I've never seen that kind of poop from him again but I do
find occasionally (At least 1-2 times a week) a poop that is dark
green, slimy, and snot like in the litter box (Looks like a loogie or
something). I've also notices he's been having poops which is about
as thin as a pencil or a little bit bigger, is this normal? (P.S The
other day he vomited when I sprinkled a very small amount of chicken
blood on his kibble to start getting him used to the taste of
chicken.) He's still eating and drinking very very well, he's also
very very playful too. When he explores he seems to lay down and rest
a lot. He hasn't eaten anything he wasn't supposed to, the only thing
he could have eaten that he wasn't supposed to could be his paper
pelleted litter but other than that he couldn't have eaten anything
he's not supposed to. He's fed a mix of Marshalls premium kibble and
Marshalls chicken select kibble. I'm not sure what's going on with
him. I've looked all over the internet and I can't find anything that
quite matches his symptoms. I was told to get a fecal exam done on him
but I don't know if that will be useful and it might be a complete
waste of money? Does anyone have an idea what might be going on with
him? If so what should I do??
