Mookie and Cecil can only do one cheap "trick" - they roll over for treats.
It wasn't difficult. I held a cheerio between my fingers and let Mookie
lick it, but not take it, while I rolled him over and waved it in a circle
over his head in the same direction, so his head followed it. When he was
rolled over, he got the treat. It took two sessions (and probably too many
cheerios) for him to get the idea, but we don't bother doing it often, so he
forgets and has to be reminded. Cecil watched Mookie a couple of times, and
after only 2 or 3 "manual" rolls, he learned it for himself, and still
remembers to roll even if we haven't done it for a while. Psycho has his
own agenda. Cheerios aren't worth the trouble. We leave him alone to play
with the secret people nobody else can see. We haven't tried teaching
Cocoa.

They'll all take treats out of mouth, usually without a chunk of lip...:)
