As you probably already know, ferrets are against the health code here in
NYC.  The couple of vets I contacted directly have said things to the
effect that they would treat a ferret in an emergency, but that they can't
do general, preventive medicine.
 
Now for the good news.  the PETCO at Union Square has vacination clinics
every other sunday  (The next one is not this weekend, but the following
one), and the flier for the clinic says that ferret vacinations are
available there as well.  I'm planning to go, and talk to the vets
involved.  Hopefully one of them does office visits as well.

[Moderator's note: It abviously happens since Regan experienced it, but
I've never heard of a NYC vet who balked at treating ferrets.  They are
a huge nāmber of ferrets in NYC and most vets see them regularly.  BIG]
