Howdy! One of my ferrets (4.5 yr old sable female) may have a medical
problem. Last week I noticed there was a slight mucoid discharge,
greenish yellow in color, matting the fur around her genital area. She
was neutered and descented as a kit and hasn't had any health problems.
She seems OK, but I'm worried about infection. Are ferrets susceptable to
uro-genital infection? Any information would be dearly appreciated, as I
can help direct the vet's attention to this information when I take her in
for an exam. Also if anyone has a recommendation for a good vet in
Albuquerque, N.M. that is knowledgeable about ferrets, I would really
appreciate the tip.

Thanks, ya'll.

M.S.
