Jessica,
As long as the introductions are slow and gentle, there shouldn't be too
many problems.  There was at least 1 ferret running around the house when I
was in vet school, and nothing fazed those little guys (not budgies, cats or
dogs large and small - vet students tend to have alot of pets.).
