Here are the regulations for the Texas Parks & Wildlife for Win and any
other Texans or Texas campers:

I spoke with several employees (was transfered 3 times after asking about
ferrets) at their headquarters in Austin and no one could really tell me
specifically if they were or were not allowed. One lady suggested that
it would always be a good idea to talk to the individual park's manager
to get specific permission to bring them into the park. (bring papers
with proof of vacs)As you can see by the note below, we are at a high
risk for rabies here in the Lone Star State and go under quarrantine
quite often, always check with the park to see if they are under that
quarrantine when you plan on camping. The only thing I wasn't happy
about is not having them inside the screened shelter or cabin, but I
think if I keep them contained in their carriers (shh!!, inside the
shelter) who's gonna tell? not me!!

Hug a fuzzy today?
