Need help with flakey skin!

My ferret Big Foot hardly has any hair at all as a result of fighting with
adrenal disease.  In the last week I have noticed that his skin was getting
dry but now it is so dry that it is getting very flakey.  I don't know what
to put on it to relieve the dryness.  Should I stay away from human
moisturizing products in case he licks?  Would a bath help if I put oil in
the water?  If anyone has any sure fire ways to help please let me know.
