To Heather Moore:

According to Judi Bell, DVM, formly of Marshall Farms, aspen shavings are
ok to use with ferrets.

The problem is, that the average person who walks into a pet store and sees
'shavings' used for ferret bedding, has absolutely no way of knowing if they
are aspen, pine, etc, by just looking at them. THe use of any type of wood
shavings by pet stores gives the impression that wood shavings are ok.

So, according to Dr Bell, aspen is ok, but personally, I wouldn't use them
anyway.
