In regard to Lori's inquiry on her ferret's symtoms, I ditto Russell's
reply that this sounds like classic insulinoma symptoms.  It's rather
surprising that a vet who supposedly specializes in ferrets, wouldn't have
insulinoma at the top of the diagnosis list.  Unfortunately, I've had a
few ferrets who developed insulinoma after the age of 5.  I always have a
bottle of Pred from my vet on hand for whenever a ferret starts to go into
an insulinoma seizure.  They will usually clench their teeth tightly too
when drooling.  The Pred seems to help get their blood sugar back up a
little faster than Kayro syrup, etc.  As a side note, I've had much luck
with the super nutrient/antioxidant, Pycnogenol, with both insulinoma,
adrenal disease and some tumors in ferrets.  It's not a cure, but has put
my ferrets in remission of their symptoms, and allowed them to live longer,
quality lives, and boosted their appetites and energy levels.
