This is embarrasing, but I don't know how to highlight text from someone
else's e-mail and make it part of my own. So, I'll just summarize. Nancy
from OSU posted a question about approaching a landlord in Columbus, OH,
with the info that she has a ferret (s).

Being an OSU alum and living most of my life in Columbus, OH, I couldn't
help but respond. I know that only recently Franklin County made ferrets
legal pets to own, but there is something fuzzy (no pun intended!) in the
language of this ordinance. Apparently Columbus itself has not yet approved
ferrets as legal pets (or possibly even followed the rest of the county in
their legalization). At least I remember this was the case a few months
ago. Do any Ohioans know more about this? I would be interested myself in
knowing what's going on, as we bring our weasels back home a few times a
year. But in response to your question, Nancy, I would tread very carefully
with your landlord, particularly, of course, if the status of ferrets
remains up in the air. Even if legal, be prepared to advocate and have
plenty of info on hand. Best of luck,
