Someone was asking about cleaning for smells; I've found that citrus based
cleaners (usually available in highly concentrated form, such as Citrasolve)
with just a few drops of tea tree oil added in a spray bottle works very
well, with the added benefit that the tea tree oil (costs a bit much, but is
amazingly strong and effective, little bottles last a long time) acts as a
disinfectant . The only lingering smell is sort of orange/eucalyptus -
which also deters fleas. Even though my Sprocket loves oranges, she never
chews on wood or fabric sprayed with this, and it's relatively non toxic
(much safer than bleach, which is highly carcinogenic) anyway.
