Well I'm not sure if this will put your mind at ease but...

My two girls came into heat at 5 months old, and I didn't want to spay
them yet, so my vet and I researched hormone shots. The brand he
purchased was designed for cattle, and we both raised our eyebrows when
we realized the ferret dose was 40% of the cattle dose!! (I think the
ferret dose is 200 mcg and for cattle it's 500mcg--I'm too lazy to check
now!) We both calculated it several times to make sure we weren't making
a mistake.

Go figure!

OK I looked it up: it was 20 mcg (micrograms) of gonadotropin releasing
hormone, NOT 200 mcg as my imperfect memory recalled. My poor girls did
NOT receive a 10-times overdose!
