Regarding Michelle Suzanne Kurtz computer search for articles--any info. we
can garner is potentially useful against propaganda-mongers and general
ignorance. A friend of mine gave me the Harper's article, "In Praise of
Ferret Legging" to read, and I was actually quite appalled, as the animals
utilized in this "sport" are hunting ferrets (stoats, more properly? I'm not
exactly sure), and they are portrayed as being quite vicious. The article
would be hysterical if it weren't adding further to the mistaken notion
that pet ferrets are vicious and dangerous creatures. The thought of
men amusing themselves by seeing how long they could go with a ferret in
their pants (no underwear)... This has got to be one of the strangest
competitive sports around... well, I ramble on. Thanks for the info,
Michelle !
