It seems the UK does not have an approved to use in ferrets canine
distemper vaccine. Some vets will use a dog vaccine, but many will not.
So the ramifications are broad.

If you are on Facebook, please connect with the Ferret Owners group to
follow what is happening.

There is also a fundraiser underway on Facebook to help defray the
costs the shelters are experiencing. As the Ferret Assn of CT knows
well, the costs to battle this disease are exceptional. No shelter is
prepared for the expenses of treating, vaccinating (if their vet will
do it), providing supportive care, and, if necessary, dealing with
euthanasia expense.

The link to the auction is:
https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=216390345093760
- you do need to be a member of facebook to participate.

If you wish to help our friends in the UK - please send me a private
email and I'll get you connected to the folks working on this.

Thank you for the ferrets!
