Nancy, ferrets absolutely love parrots.  Caffie loved two of mine to death.
 
No matter how careful you are, you have to accept the fact that a ferret
can & will kill a bird if it gets the chance to do so.  If you want
ferrets & birds it is a risk you take.
 
Not saying you can't have both, but if anything happens to the bird, you
can't blame the ferret.
