Hi all!
This is an unabashedly proud loud announcement of my favorite fuzzy-girl
Dweezil's 2nd birthday, Wednesday August 26!!! All my friends and
co-workers (all ferret-less, can you imagine?) are *sick* of hearing me go
on-and-on about the wonders of being ferret-owned, so I'm appealing to you,
the ferret-loving FML populace, to help me share the joy of my furbug's
birthday! She's going to get a nice romp in the park (on her leash, of
course), a trip to PetSmart, a small intimate party, some special treats,
and of course, more toys!!! Happy, happy, joy, joy!!!

Feel free to share birthday wishes! (I'm absolutely shameless, aren't I?)
I've kept all of the letters Dweezil received last year; it's nice to look
back over them!

On a different track, I need advice on my foster-ferret, Sylvi. Her exact
age is unknown, but she's somewhere around 7yrs old(!) and in seemingly good
health, tho she is an incorrigible toe biter! Her owner has had her for
approx 3yrs, and never got her shots and to her knowledge, her previous
owner never got her shots, either(!) So I'm wondering, at her age, would it
be better to not risk any complications/reactions to the rabies/distemper
shots or whether she should be vaccinated regardless because of the lethal
nature of rabies/distemper. She comes outside in the yard with me
occasionally, but since she's not leash-trained, she not exposed to the
world nearly as much as Dweezil, who is very well-traveled (as well as
well-vaccinated!) But since distemper is airborne, there's still a threat,
right? I'm not sure which would be the best option. Advice?

I wish everyone and their fuzzies the best, and special thoughts for those
sweet ones that are ill or have crossed the Bridge.

Sherrie
Dweezil ('happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me! i wish everyday
was like my birthday!')
Sylvi ('what's a birthday? can i have one, too?')
