Please help! I have a six month old female, Marshells Ferret. Three
weeks ago she began sneezing, coughing and vomiting mucus. I took her
to her regular and he diagnosed her with allergies and gave her Baytril
for a seven (7) day period as well as < TSP of Childrens Benedril. She
bounced right back. The day after she finished the Baytril she began
sneezing and vomiting again, I kept her on the Benedril. I took her back
to her regular vet and he put her on Clavamox for ten (10 ) day period
and we stopped the Benedril. She seemed a bit better, but after three
days she became listless and suffered a loss of appetite. I gave her
Ferretvite and Duck Soup and she began to perk up a bit but she was not
eating as much as she should and was still listless. She would have
small burst of energy, but would speed bump and stay that way for
hours. I then took her to Melissa Kling and she said her lungs sounded
clear but her breathing did not sound right. They took an x-ray and saw
an enlarged spleen, and ran the following blood ests and told me she
would call the two ferret specialists and she what their opinions were
and that she would call me back, I told her I would be posting these
results and see what other opinions I could gather. Dr. Kling put her on
the following medications, Baytril 0.6ml and Pedia, Prednisolone 0.5ml
and Pediasure 12cc.
