My husband brought home a new toy last night, although it clearly verified
how ferrets look for things.

He brought home a laser diode light pen; you know, those red dot pointers?
We tried it on the fuzzies, hoping they'd play and chase the dot, but no go.
They pretty much ignored it.

The cat, though, was a completely different story. Really got his motor
turned on.

If you have one of these, or can get one [they're about $30], try it on a
cat. They will chase endlessly, get hopelessly confused when the dot
disappears (right under their paws no less), and you can direct the chase
safely and from the comfort of your couch, without crashing into furniture
yourself dragging a string toy around.

Enjoy, LP
