I understand about the FFZ part - but I just don't understand the "young
children" part! I've had ferrets, and it would be the pet of choice for
me to give my daughter, who will be six in two weeks. Unfortunately, I'm
in a FFZ, and I will not get her one. It was different 10 years ago when
I smuggled my 4 furry children in - I was already attached to them...
but I'm not comfortable giving my daughter an illegal pet. I *did* have
ferrets and an infant/toddler, and we had no problems - they did spend
much of their time in a large cage (just as before), and my daughter
would go over and visit them and talk to them and poke her fingers into
the cage all the time. No problem.
