Two years ago I could barely walk from one room to another without
falling, then I needed 18 months of braces and 8 months of PT. I set
a goal to be once again able to walk at least 5 miles in a walk but was
warned by the medical professionals that I never again would be able to
do that.

Ever since I managed to walk over 2 miles in a walk -- without cane for
many months now, and without braces for the last several months because
I healed that well -- I have said that when I walk at least 5 miles in
a walk absolutely everyone needs to celebrate with a favorite sandwich
and a favorite frozen treat. Even though I can NOT foot the bill I want
everyone to know that even something said to be impossible isn't. Well,
today, the "impossible happened" I took an over 5 mile walk. Aside from
blisters, sweat, and sore muscles I feel absolutely GREAT!

So, if you can afford yourself a favorite sandwich you normally would not
treat yourself to and a favorite frozen treat -- or some other preferred
delicacy -- celebrate with Steve and me.

I wonder what I'll try next that I wasn't supposed to be able to do...

Sometimes it pays to be stubborn.
