Will you please help Cookie to meet friends up there?He crossed the Bridge
at 3:07 pm today.He doesn't know anyone up there but maybe you can get
Gentleman Big to talk to him about happenings here at the shelter.Take him
to the Chicken Gravy bowl as he loves it.And a special hammie shaped like
a bowl?
 
Cookie came to us sick at 5.5 yrs old.The vet I'd taken taken Cookie to
seemed to think that it was ulcers but after a couple months of all kinds
of meds,I switched vets.The new vet gave meds for a ulcer,careafate & the
others.The speacalist wasn't in til today when I took Cookie back due to
a reck & I'd found a purple spot on his tummy.Cookie was breathing heavy
for the last week.Had no hind end movement,but had feelings in them.X-ray
showed cancer of the spine,advanced.I chose to help Cookie to the Bridge as
I didn't want him to suffer anymore.The vet gave him the sedative that they
give before the actual shot,& Cookie took 2 breathes & died in my arms.It
was the hardest thing I've had to do but I know that it was for Cookies
best interest.He was already so weak.He never got the shot to actually put
him down.
 
I'll bury him at my Mom's with his favorite hammie,(Thanks Mindy) and some
flowers.I just hope that his cagemate Coke will understand and be ok.Cookie
was a sweetheart that just wanted to be held all the time.I didn't have
have Cookie very long,since Aug,08.But I'd bonded with him.
 
Sandee,Cookie is a med.  brown sable,M,dragging his hind end.He & Gentleman
look alot alike.
 
Please tell him that I love him,miss him& Gentleman as well.And that it's
all doing to be better now?
