Hello fellow ferret lovers
 
I am the very proud mom of 7.  I have been obsessed with ferrets for about
6 years now.I live about 2 hours north of Toronto Ontario.  Ferrets are
only becoming popular as pets here, and many don't understand my obsession.
In reading about the concern that you all show for ferrets, regardless of
who they belong to, warms my heart.  It's also nice to read the humorous
side of ferret ownership.  The ferret bbq was wonderful.
 
On June 16 I had to assist 2 of my "children" to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Bear and Toby were both aged and ill.  I never heard of the Rainbow Bridge
before this.  My friend sent me a copy after I lost Bear and Toby.  I sat
in the kitchen and cried as I read it.  I then had to aid Murphy, as he
journeyed over the bridge, on July 29.I can't tell you the pain I endured,
losing 3 so close together.  My vet bills are horrendous, but I wouldn't
have minded so much if we had been able to keep my boys with me.  I still
get very teary when I think of them.  These were the first ferrets that I
lost.
 
Now I have a 6 year old, Moxy who is recovering from adrenal surgery.  We
took her to a new vet, about 45 minutes away from here, but who came highly
recommended by a lady who runs a ferret rescue near here.  This new vet
seems to be more knowledgeable about ferrets, and we are generally pretty
pleased with her care.  We had Moxy back today to have her stitches removed
and discovered that her tumor was malignant.  We hope the vet "got it all".
In the meantime we will do all we can to make Moxy's time with us the best
we can make it.  Moxy is very special to us.  She is our very first ferret
and we've had her since she was 6 weeks old.
 
We humbly request your prayers for our girl.  Please know that all of your
ferrets, healthy or ill, are remembered in our prayers.
