A few of you will remember I posted a message a couple of weeks ago asking
for help with Screech, my 5 year old with diabetes. I would like to once
again thank everyone who emailed me with their resources, encouragement,
advice, and caring. I am truly thankful.

Screech's kidneys were failing and I had him put him to sleep this
afternoon. There was no hope and I didn't want him to suffer. He was near
coma when my vet gave him the injection. It was the hardest thing I have
ever done and I will miss him always. He was my baby.

At some point, I will try to post the whole story if anyone is interested.
Diabetes in ferrets is extremely rare as most of you know, but I hope if
this ever happens to anyone else's ferret, maybe Screech's story can be used
as a reference to try and save a life.
