Hi to all. I have been meaning to write and give everyone an update on
the shelter and remind everyone our e bay auctions end soon and to check
them out, but instead I need to tell you of a very special ferret the
crossed the rainbow bridge today.

Mello passed away today after battling a long bout of cardio problems.
She hung on longer than expected but today she took her last breath as I
watched her from across the ferret room. I had just given her pain meds,
I turned around to put something down and as I turned to check on her
again she took one last breath. I held her in my arms, not believing she
was gone.

Mello came to me last October, her body was black and blue from the
inside of her mouth to the tip of her tail, we never knew what happened
to her but from the bruises and lacerations we believe she was beaten.
From the first day I had her she would kiss your face forever if you
would let her. She always wanted to be held and loved everyone. she had
a wonderful Christmas with so many people sending her gifts.

She had to have a damaged kidney removed from the beating she had. After
that she grew progressively worse but never stopped kissing.

Everyone loved Mello, you couldn't help but love her, she was so sweet
and gentle. she was a very special ferret to me and I will miss her so
very much. As I drew up the pm meds, I automatically drew hers up and
then when I got to her cage I remembered she was gone. I will never
forget her and I was lucky to have her in my life even for the short
time she was here.

Mello my angel, I will miss you and I will love you forever.

Mom
