If your vet isn't doing cryosurgery, then there may well be enough of the
right adrenal gland remaining after the surgery to maintain Taz. Koosh
had a semi-bilateral adrenalectomy (that is, only part of his right glad
was removed). He is fine and requires no meds. Many ferrets have had
bilateral adrenalectomies and done well. You can probably find a good
amount of info about this on the Ferret Health List.

Since Koosh is all right as is, I have no personal experience with
meds after surgery. But, again, many ferrets are maintained just fine
with this. You can probably find a compounding pharmacy to make the
medication palatable, even for a ferret who doesn't much care for meds.
Again, check on the Ferret Health List for more info.

Good luck to you and Taz. I hope it all works out well.
