Hi, all.

I did an unusual greeting today. We had a visit from the Cat Afterworld.
This cat's name in life was Big House, but he likes being called "BH".
It seems that his hoomins thought that the "M" mark on his head fur,
right between his ears, stood for the University of Michigan. The
stadium there is called the "Big House".

Cats often have some really strange names, I've noticed. My favourite
was a cat I met named Imhotep, after the architect who designed the
first pyramid in Egypt. That's a really cool name! Imhotep used to
hunt pheasants in her hoomin's backyard by waiting for them to do
their courtship dance under a tree that she would hide in. She'd wait
patiently, then jump down and kill them by compaction. She'd land on
them! Her hoomins used to say it was "Death From Above." Imhotep's
hoomin's really miss her.

Anyway, BH has always been a good friend to ferrets, especially to one
named Cinnamon, who misses her dearly in the World of the Living. Some
day, they will meet again.

BH made the trip here today to be re-united with a fettet friend named
Mister, and just generally to spend a little ferrety quality time.

Well, BH and Mister had a lot of fun playing pounce and chase in the long
grass. Mister would War Dance up to him while BH squatted down on his
haunches and waited to spring. Then, BOOM! BH would thump Mister with
just the soft pads of his front paws, never the claws. Sometimes all I
could see of BH was the tail switching back and forth excitedly. Then,
BOING! Mister would do his very best "Pop goes the Weasel", and almost
knock BH right on his furry butt!

They spent the whole afternoon together, playing and talking. It was a
very good time.

Later, when BH was ready to head back across the Bridge to the Cat
Afterworld (there is only one Bridge but it leads to many places), BH
told me a little bit about his hoomins. He says his only regret in his
life was the fact that it was so short. He only got a year with his
hoomins, and he loved them so much. His Mommy was named Jean, and she
gave the best ever ear scratches! Some day, they will meet again, and
he will rub up against her ankles once more.

BH invited me to go with him to the Cat Afterworld to visit the Bacon
Bar and the Scratching Sofas, but I said no thanks. Going to the Cat
Afterworld always makes me a little nervous!

Well, back to work!
Sandee
