Hello FMLers, Shelter Moms and Dads, and Rescuers everywhere:
 
Allow me to introduce myself.  I am the "Hammock Fairy".  I am a
hammock-maker whose own fuzzies now have more hammocks than they will
ever use, and I would like to use my hammock-making skills (as well as my
towering mountain of stashed fabric) to make hammocks for shelter and
rescue fuzzies.  I have worked with shelters and know that shelter moms
and dads do not usually have the time to make unlimited hammocks and beds
for shelter residents.
 
Please e-mail me at my address, [log in to unmask], if your
shelter or rescue needs some hammocks.  Unless the response is
overwhelming, I'm hoping to send each shelter or rescue at least 5 or 6
hammocks in a timely manner (if I get a lot of responses I may have to
make more and there will be a slight delay; I have some in stock but
anticipate making more to fill the needs of many shelters).
 
This is strictly a donation, no charges for materials or shipping or
anything like that.  I wish to remain anonymous, mainly so that shelters
need not feel any obligation for requesting hammocks; I am simply a
hammock-maker who wants to help out as many shelters as possible.
 
Please e-mail me if you are a shelter or rescuer, and let me know if you'd
be interested in being added to my list of hammock recipients.  My intent
is to compile a list of shelters and rescues who would like to receive
hammocks on a continuous basis, then simply rotate and send each shelter a
few hammocks every couple of weeks, or whatever schedule works to fit the
shelter or rescue's needs.
 
For your peace of mind, shelters and rescuers, I am a ferret owner but my
household is ADV-negative and we have never had or been exposed to ECE (my
ferrets do not get out and mingle with other ferrets, and they live with 2
strictly indoor cats).  There is no possibility of danger to your ferrets
through contagions such as these.  I mention this because frankly it would
be a concern to me if I were receiving ferret bedding from an anonymous
source.  So rest assured, we are disease-free (well, except we have a
spectacular amount of adrenal disease, but...I guess that's not
transmitted through bedding!)
