My experience with working terriers.

The ferrets were in residence long before the first dog arrived. First to
arrive was a Jackrussel X Whippet easy going and knows how to keep out of
the ferrets way, next to arrive was a Jackrussel as a puppy she would mix
with the ferrets, eat and drink from the same bowl and even share their
bed. Now the grey hairs are appearing and the ferrets are still acting
like kits, her tolerance of the ferrets is getting a little low.

The last to arrive were two Lancashire heelers, the bitch used to takes
care of any young ferrets, going so far as to kid napping any young
ferrets when mum was not around
