Like Linda we are also probably going to be collecting information on
kidney disease. Hopefully, Scooter's ultrasound (of his kidney and while
they were doing it anyway also his heart since he has a new murmur) will be
fine, but they didn't tell us yesterday and today they didn't have the
receptionists just say that everything was fine but said we'd have to wait
for the vet to call. That's always somewhat scary. We are really ignorant
in relation to kidney problems. The only ferret here who ever had it was
Spot who had it secondary to severe ECE and it wasn't discovered till very
far along. Scoots is only three, but he's one whose mother partly ate him
when he was born. We might once again be learning a lot from vets, texts,
websites, and you, friends.

Ashling Ferret votes for welder as Kouri's career, but she has a perverse
idea of what sort of equipment we should buy for her next birthday. Just
where do we get blasting caps with ferret friendly attachments? (A joke,
folks -- Ashling is destructo-ferret-supreme and considers it proper
mustelid order, plus she loves loud sounds. Think she must be related to
Steve's dad who as a youth supported himself as a mine blaster or whatever
they call it. (Oh, for those who ask: Evan isn't doing that well; he
hasn't been following the physician's orders in relation to the amount of
exercise (more than he wants), and the amounts of salt and fat (less than
he wants) that he's been getting and it's not a good situation. My dad is
doing WONDERFULLY since his carotid surgery, thanks!)

Aren't compounding pharmacies GREAT?!!!!!!!! We have had luck with
tuitie-fruiti. Have heard of others doing well with raspberry. Check your
local pharmacies to find who does compounding. Some who have mailed in the
past can be reached at: 1-800-322-1302, 1-800-861-0933, and 1-973-235-0909.
