My stair solution
Use the see thru flexible ferret tubes..

Cup hook screwed into the wall,o ne at the top and one at the bottom.
At the top wrap a piece of twine "around" tube (leave a bit loose) at
the top and slide it onto the cup hook do the same at the bottom..Now
Edgar can go in the tube and slide down..

Mine even were sliding down on their backs down the tube and running
back up the stairs again.

The ferret shouldn't get stuck in the tube ,they don't when its on the
floor..

If you did have a problem its only held onto the wall by twine and a
cup hook easily pulled away if need to be in a emergency..

Give it a try you'll see..
JJ
