Sounds like it's just playing...if it would be fighting, you'd hear
screams, and you'd KNOW they were angry. I wouldn't go sticking my finger
in anyone's mouth, either, as you said you do. If you need to seperate
them, just scruff Stinky and he should open his mouth and yawn, which will
give Buck time to escape (if he's so inclined). Or, you could squirt them
with a spray bottle of water. But I wouldn't even do that unless there's
a real reason (screaming and bloodshed).

I didn't know that ferrets could scream until the day Kesef escaped. It
was early morning, and everyone (except me!) was awakened by the sound of
tortured screams coming from one of the ferrets. They ran into that room
to find Oscar the Mangy Ferret Hating Cat standing on Kesef...no claws, no
teeth, no bloodshed, just *standing* on Kesef with one paw on Kesef's back
and with another paw batting him on the head (dribble, dribble, dribble).

Kesef is our most energetic ferret, but he apparently learned his lesson
well from that experience! Today, the ferret cage door somehow got opened
and we had two ferrets running around the house (much to Oscar's dismay!),
but guess who stayed *in* his cage? This is the same guy who literally
LEAPS out of the cage and into my arms when I open the door.

Anyway, I'd just let them duke it out, unless someone's getting hurt.
They've got tougher skin and play rougher than we do.
