As I type this email I have just learned that Tara - one of the NJ ( Egg
Harbor City seizure) residents in hospice is in emergency surgery.
FerretWise brought Tara ( formerly Giovanni up as she was a biter) and 12
other ferrets from the seizure for rehabilitation -- well we know ferrets
bite for a reason-- and the situation she was taken from was enough.

Since day one she has had bouts of chewing bedding etc. Well, today the
hospice mom called she had chewn more bedding- was not eating hard food and
her stools were almost non existent. She underwent emergency surgery for
the partial obstruction -- and now exploratory to repair her detached
stomach which was in her chest cavity -- the most probable result of being
kicked by human feet. I think this is perhaps the worst case of living
abuse I have seen here at the shelter-- Tara had every reason to bite!

We are all saying prayers here that Tara will make a full recovery and
learn to trust and love, and live a pets life once and for all. I ask you
to keep Tara in your thoughts and prayers.... I will be happy to let you
know how she fares.......
