Mary,

I received a couple of boxes at Christmas time from merchants with the
Cornstarch peanuts in it and little notes explaining what they were. I had
read that they would be fun for the ferrets, but I had my doubts - plus how
do you know a merchant is telling you the truth, or that who is selling the
peanuts to them is telling the truth, etc.......... SO because these were
my fur children I was considering these for I decided I had to be a "good
Mom" and make sure they were biodegradable. I popped one in my own mouth
and while the taste was rather bland (!), the peanut literally melted away
in my saliva, in a fairly quick amount of time (not instantly). Meep had a
ball snuffling around in them and I was reassured about them. I would
recommend like anything that you don't just leave it out but supervise the
use of them, just like anything.
