Fannie did better this year with separate vaccinations. She got them 3
weeks apart as opposed to getting them together last year. Last year she
began vomiting within ten minutes of her shots.

However, this year Fannie came down with a cold a few days after the rabies
shot. I understand a rabies shot can lower immunity to things a ferret has
do deal with. When her coughing was completely cleared up and Fannie had
time to get her strength back, she finally got her distemper shot.

By the way, Dr. DeGrove checked her little lungs during the coughing to be
sure she didn't have pneumonia (at no charge). Also, oddly, her paws
appeared to be slightly swollen during her cold.

Fannie had no bad reactions to her vaccinations given separately. It was
worth the extra effort.
