Just wanted to say that I commend Judy G. for coming forward about ADV and
her ferrets. This was an excellent email, very diplomatic and caring.
I admire you for being brave enough to come out with this information.
Those who have ferrets from any of the ferrets in question of ADV should
definitely seek the tests. I would also go as far as to request copies of
the test results from any breeders who produced ferrets that may possibly
be infected. You should never just take somebody's word for it, even if
they seem responsible. Always ask for the medical records. Most people
are honest, but you never know. Just my opinion.
I read Gail's post and I will keep your little one in my thoughts and
prayers. Please keep all of us posted.
Loved reading the top ten reasons for being late for work - that was
perfect! Lots of times I have been late because of play time or a messy
cage so I just laughed and laughed at that post.
It is nice to see more humor on this board for a change.
I went snowboarding yesterday and discovered that I now want a new
snowboard. All white so that I can have an artist put a ferret on it.
Well of course my hubby thinks I am crazy to want to get a new board since
the one I have is fine, so now there is a "battle of the sexes" going on.
I WILL PREVAIL! LOL.
I see that the emails about magazines has stirred up a debate, so now I
will ask why anyone who writes for this publication would do so if the
editors changed things without prior approval? I would not be happy if
someone did that to my writing. I am confused on the whole thing. I must
admit that the Modern Ferret Halloween issue really turned me off to that
publication. I saw no humor in it and found it very sick and demeaning to
ferrets. It made me think very deeply about why they would publish such
garbage and I never did come up with an answer. It did a huge injustice
to ferrets and the ferret-loving community. Harry Anderson has a very
disgusting sense of humor. I never felt it should be pulled from any
shelves, I just would never subscribe to it now and I am VERY liberal. I
do not enjoy seeing animals depicted in such a way. IMO they lost many
subscribers over that issue. I have not seen any of this in Ferrets, and I
am thankful. Perhaps the editors of this magazine don't know alot about
ferrets but they do seem to know who to go for to produce good articles, at
least that is something. I hope they never show any animals depicted with
severed heads or as a meal. Once again, I have a great sense of humor and
am VERY LIBERAL, but this really left a bad impression on me and made me
question how much the editors at Modern Ferret actually love ferrets as
much as they claim. I am in Marketing and realize that negative or
"reverse marketing" is sometimes a very effective way to draw attention but
this was a too much and IMO a very desperate attempt if that was their
intention behind the whole stunt.
