When I moved from Galveston, TX (just south of Houston) last October (still
very hot there) I flew Delta Airlines from Houston Int. Airport because
they are the only airline that would let me carry my ferret in the cabin.
She went in a soft-sided carrier, as required, under my seat, so the
prohibition on transporting animals when the outside temperature is too
high did not apply. I don't know if this helps any becuase the ferret has
to travel with a ticketed passenger (and there is a fee - I think $50). If
you choose this option, just remember to make a reservation for your ferret
to travel in cabin when you book your own ticket since they only allow a
limited number of animals in the cabin.
